Summer at Biola

The hour long prayer session with colleagues was a great start to the work week.

Together, Biola staff and faculty prayed for various departments and staff needs as well as incoming and returning students.

On July 13, President Corey asked the Biola community to gather for "A Call to Prayer."

Last fall, President Corey introduced "Coffee with Corey" as a way for him to interact personally with each of the staff departments on campus. In July, Dr. Corey met with the faithful night crew custodians at 5:30 in the morning after their grave yard shift.

President Corey led devotions for the annual CCCU Communications Officers Conference on June 19.

At the end of June, Biola's senior administrators gathered together for the annual PAC retreat.

President Corey was grateful for the time he and the faculty had to encourage each other and get to know one another better.

Mrs. Johnson showed the faculty some of Berkeley's highlights during their visit.

The faculty group met at the home of Dr. Phil Johnson and his wife, Kathie, and discussed how Biola can remain faithful to its convictions while still pursuing academic excellence in order to prepare the strong Christian leaders of tomorrow.

On June 19-20, President Corey took a small group of faculty to Berkeley to meet with Dr. Phil Johnson, Professor Emeritus, University of California, Berkeley School of Law and recent recipient of an honorary doctorate in laws from Biola University.

Five students from multi-cultural backgrounds presented the piece, "Come Walk In My Shoes," a portrayal of women around the world at the Board dinner.

Guests mixed and mingled as student musicians played for the event.

On May 7, 2009, President and Mrs. Corey hosted a dinner for the Board of Trustees and special guests at their home.
