Employees

Accounts / Passwords

Our most urgent need from you as an employee is most likely resetting your forgotten password. Fortunately, in some cases you can reset your own password. To make them easy to remember, we recommend you set your Portal password first, and then change your other passwords to match it.

Blackboard

Blackboard is mainly used by faculty to enable online class activity and distance-learning for students.

Computer Services / Repair

A close second need is a fixed computer. In most cases there is no charge to you or your department for our diagnostic and repair services.

Email

You’ll want to get your Biola email account up and running.

File Storage

We provide online file storage to departments called “efiles.”

Get Computers / Software

We provide most computer, printer, and software needs of Biola employees through the Computer Replacement Program. We replace computers every three years or so. We can also help you get what your department needs through the Computer Store. Now if you need a computer, equipment, or software for personal use, you can take advantage of educational pricing at the Computer Store, or look into our selection of used computers and equipment at the IT Helpdesk.

Labs / Classrooms

Computer labs are available primarily for students, and computer classrooms can be scheduled for classes through the Registrar.

Network / Wireless

We support the Biola network, and wireless is available in common areas such as Common Grounds and the Library.

Phones

We support the Biola phone system.

Portal

Through the online Portal, faculty can access their class rosters and grade their classes, and staff can access the Employee Handbook or enter data into the University’s databases.

Print / Copy

The Diginet print and copy system can be used for personal employee printing and copying, though it is mainly used by students.

Security

The computers we provide employees are covered with anti-virus software.
