Talbot General Aid Scholarship

Biola-funded scholarship to assist Talbot students who have demonstrated financial need, available for the Fall and Spring semesters.

Christian Apologetics Departmental Scholarship

New students in the Christian Apologetics or Science and Religion programs are eligible to apply for the Acts 17 Scholarship, which is a one-year, $1,200 academic scholarship. New students awarded this scholarship will receive $600 their first semester and $600 their second. Any new applicant can apply. 

  • Amount:
    • A limited number of $1,200 one-year ($600 per semester) scholarships are available.
  • Deadline:
    • Application must be received by:
      • July 15 for the fall semester
      • November 1 for the spring semester
  • Eligibility:
    • Must be a new student accepted into the Christian Apologetics or Science and Religion program
    • Based on need and merit. No minimum GPA to apply
    • Minimum enrollment 5 credits per semester
    • Must earn a minimum 3.3 GPA during the first semester in MACA or MASR program in order to receive second semester scholarship

    NOTE: Students who drop below 5 credits in their first semester will have their scholarship withdrawn for both semesters. Students who drop below 5 credits in their second semester will have their scholarship withdrawn for the second semester only. Students who receive below a 3.3 GPA their first semester will not receive the scholarship for their second semester.

Church Matching Scholarship

Biola-funded match to church sponsorship.

  • Amount:
    • Biola will match up to $750.
  • Deadline:
    • October 1 is the deadline for students who attend the fall semester only, or both fall and spring semesters
    • March 1 is the deadline for students who attend only the spring semester
  • Eligibility:
    • Traditional students only
    • ELP students once during first two semesters
    • Student must be enrolled at least half-time
    • Demonstrated need based on FAFSA information
    • Special programs (ie. Chiang Mai, Kiev, etc.) not eligible. Please see the included instructions on the first page of the application for a list of all ineligible programs.
  • Application:
    • Submit Church Matching Scholarship Application for appropriate aid year, and attach a church sponsorship check made out to Biola University by the scholarship deadline
    • Confirmed financial aid file by the scholarship deadline, which includes a completed FAFSA (online) and all requested forms, international students exempt.
  • Renewal:
    • Student must re-apply each year.

Talbot Ethnic Ministries Scholarship

Biola-funded scholarship in cooperation with student's church, awarded to Talbot students who minister 10+ hours/week in an official capacity in a church whose attendance consists of at least 60% Latino, African American, or Native American.

  • Amount:
    • 1/3 of tuition provided by Biola, 1/3 of tuition provided by student's church, 1/3 of tuition provided by student. Available as funds last.
  • Deadline:
    • Current Students - May 15 (for Fall) and October 15 (for Spring)
    • New Students - July 1 (for Fall) and December 1 (for spring)
    • Available as funds last.
  • Eligibility:
    • Pastor must verify church membership and ethnic make-up
  • Application:

Spouse Tuition Reduction Scholarship

Biola-funded benefit for married Talbot students desire to train together for ministry

  • Amount:
    • Two-thirds reduction of tuition rate for one spouse up to six units (recipient will be the spouse with the fewest units) (Note: After the first six units' reduction, each subsequent unit taken will cost the regular price.)
  • Deadline:
    • Current Students - May 15 (for Fall) and October 15 (for Spring)
    • New Students - July 1 (for Fall) and December 1 (for spring)
    • Available as funds last.
  • Eligibility:
    • One spouse must be attending Talbot with full-time enrollment (9 units). The spouse who will receive the deduction will attend with equal or fewer units

Biola-funded benefit for full-time employees of Campus Crusade for Christ International

    • 35% reduction of tuition

    • Full time employees of Campus Crusade for Christ. A letter of verification from ministry supervisor must be on file
  • Application:

Biola Missionary Scholarship

Biola-funded scholarship to assist students who demonstrate a calling on their lives for cross-cultural missions.

  • Amount:

    $4,000

  • Deadline:

    April 6, 2018

  • Eligibility:
    • Current or returning students
    • Applicants must be continuing students (one semester completed in graduate program) at the time they apply
    • Must maintain full-time enrollment in a traditional program
    • Special programs not eligible: Doctor of Ministry, Chiang Mai, Kiev, Feinberg Messianic Program - NYC, ELP, MBA, Talbot PhD, MA TESOL Online, MA ED Online, Education Certificates Online, Applied Psychology
    • U.S. Citizens and permanent residents only
    • FAFSA must be filed and sent to Biola by application deadline
